The journey has already begun...

Hello Followers of NMB Summer Project 2011!

I am very excited to be able to update you throughout the summer so that you can follow me on my journey to North Myrtle Beach.  As I sit here writing this, there is a little more than a month left before I leave on Summer Project for 10 weeks.  It's exciting to know that after such a long process I will finally go where I've been planning to for so long.

My Summer Project journey has already begun, starting as far back as my freshman year of college.  When I first started getting involved with the Campus Crusade for Christ movement at UW-Stevens Point, I learned of many opportunities to get involved, one of which was going on a Summer Project.  I was very interested in it and saw myself participating during one of my college years.  However, as a freshman I did not feel God calling me to go at that time.  I committed to praying about it and seeking the Lord for when the time was right for me to go.  Looking back, I see how much I have grown in my faith since that time and am thankful that God called me to go this year instead.

By the beginning of my sophomore year I knew that I wanted to go to North Myrtle Beach, and I have never been so sure about His leading me than this.  This year has been an incredible year of growth!  I have gotten very involved with my Bible study and have been "discipled" by an amazing upperclassmen girl this semester (who actually went to North Myrtle Beach last summer!).  She has brought me so far in my faith and God couldn't have placed me with a better mentor.  I have also gotten opportunities to share my faith with people on campus, and it has strengthened my faith and specifically prepared me for what is to come this summer.  I have begun to actively seek the Lord and spend time in His Word, and it has made all the difference this year.  I am blessed to be able to further my walk in Him this summer.

My time lately has been filled with preparing to leave for Summer Project, and that includes support raising.  Campus Crusade stresses it as "Ministry Partner Development" because it is a process of trusting the Lord to provide and inviting others to partner in the project to impact eternity.  I want to thank you all again for being a part of this project with me through your financial and prayerful support.  It is still an ongoing process that is sometimes scary but at the same time a great opportunity to fully rely on God.

As the time draws near I grow more anxious to leave for North Myrtle Beach.  Until then, may God continue to bless you as you have blessed me.
